Showered

bridal shower

It's been too long! Things have been so utterly crazy I am still just kind of like.... that's it, just "...". So many elements and I don't even know what is causing the bulk of the stress. From lady problems, to my changing of medications for my newly diagnosed Narcolepsy Type 2, and the traveling, the heat, the anxiety, the new business, and all the other random stuff that likes to make my mind go crazy. I'm just going crazy. And throughout it all I've been back to my normal, which was my worst, level of tiredness. Do you ever want to just curl up in a ball on your bed in a room all by yourself in a place all by yourself and throw the covers over your head and just let yourself sleep forever? It's odd because as I write that it sounds miserable but some of these days lately that's all I feel like I want to do. Anyways, rant over. I'm not trying to make it sound like my life is horrible right now because it most certainly is not... just stressful. Now, onto more pleasant things. My very best friend of all time is getting married in August and I couldn't be more thrilled for her! I was so excited when she got engaged and couldn't wait to throw her a bridal shower. It's the stuff you always think about as little girls but never really know if you'll be friends long enough to make it to that. Well, this friendship did and I have no doubt will continue to last forever as my best friend really does encompass what it means to be a true best friend. Well, I made the invitations myself and I was pretty proud of them. I sent some out, but most of the invites were sent out via Facebook. I was really on top of that but then about a week before the shower I was like, "Oh shoot, the shower is a week away... I really should get on planning the games, buying the decorations, the food, the gift, ect." So my whole last week was spent prepping for my first ever bridal shower to be thrown. It wasn't bad though, I mean, shopping for decorations and putting together cute stuff isn't exactly a chore. My husband and I drove down with our cute son and dog to my parents house, where the shower was to be thrown on Friday night. I finished some last minute shopping with my mom when we got there and spent the whole night beginning the process of transforming our upstairs into a tidy, elegant, bridal shower venue. I was really nervous but really hopeful that it would turn out cute. I have never thrown any kind of shower and never really been to many showers as it is, so I was a little worried. I was really pleased with how everything turned out though. On the day of the shower I had help from my family putting together the last little details and help from my wonderful chef of a husband who did the food. We had a really good turn out and it was so great to see my best friend and the joy she had. The afternoon was filled with lots of laughter and good times. It was so fun and totally worth all the hard work!
